Original owner said the 88 was a transition year and actually the motor was a 120hp with the 100hp cover. There are generally only two things that go wrong in a case like yours, where it was working until you split the outdrive and removed the lower. So I am trying to decide if a boat is worth purchasing, its a 1987 sea ray seville 190. It has the 3.0l merc engine with unknown hours. It needs a new upholstery, has a soft spot in the center above the fuel tank and needs a new top. I plan on taking it out in a small local lake before I would...To do this you will need a Phillips screwdriver and a piece of 14 ga wire about 6 inches long or so. Remove the cover over the wires on the trim pump. Don't let the screwdriver touch any metal part of the pump while it is touching the single screw that holds the cover on. That screw has battery voltage to it and it will spark.
