Why was the springfield xds mod 2 discontinued
I am not a fan of the sights on my Glock 29, but I can use them okay. I really prefer my XDS 45 and XD45 Mod 2 sights, Though I have not shot my Mod 2 I have used the XDS a good bit. There are lots of options out there. look at Midway's selection. 4 XDS, 9, 40 and 45, 1 Hellcat 9 MM FO F/S 2 XD40 SC Mod 2, XD45 Mod 2.XDS Mod.2 CCW. I have a full fde XDS mod 2. The XD barrels will fit in the Mod.2 (sloppily) but the Mod.2 barrel won't fit in the XD because the barrel lugs and locking blocks are different widths. The Mod.2 barrel lug/block is wider and overall beefed up, similar to the XD (m).

If you go to the XDS page, then click on specs, it brings up the 4.0, but if you then scroll down you will find a picture of the 3.3 along with its specs (same page). So the 3.3 is not going anywhere anytime soon. SA just added the 4.0 single stack. Like.In answer to my own thread, I called Springfield and they are not currently producing the Mod 2. They might in the future, might not.
