You have a common issue on the 4th gens, transfer case actuator seal leak. Shops will replace it. It’s spendy, but you have to get it done since V8s are AWD and its bad news if your transfer case runs dry. Cheapest I found in Denver was $1,000ish. Many places were closer to $2k. I think there is only 1 paper seal in the transfer case, everything else is rubber from what I can remember. Stop leak will def not work for a crack in the case.The transfer case itself could run $600-1000, depending on where you go and what needs done. The transmission could be as simple as a fluid and strainer (not a filter!) change or it might need a complete rebuild or replacement.
