They were great because if you were running 33x12.5's you'd use the 33x9.5 as a spare. The best I could do on my latest Jeep (JK-8) is go with the BFG AT K02 34x10.5 on 17 inch rims. I didn't need any spacers or offset changes. I was surprised at how dramatic an improvement the 3" overall width reduction made. (3 inches per tire, but only 1.5" on each outside) I have not noticed any negative effects.
