Replacement vacuum lines
Received 2 Likes on 2 Posts. '94 F150 XLT, 4.9L - Vacuum Lines. I'm trying to get this truck to pass emissions. Started with tune up - plugs, wires, cap & rotor. Now seeing that the vacuum lines are pretty bad. Lots of issues so I'll tackle one at a time. First, the stock lines that are a rubber elbow fitting and a hard plastic tube.Next, disconnect the other vacuum line from the VSV. The best way to do this is to disconnect it at the top side of the engine and let it fall down while you have your finger wrapped around it inside the engine. Pull it toward the right side of the vehicle and and back toward the firewall with your hand.

Nov 2, 2018 · It has to seal tight enough to hold a little over 10" of vacuum. It can be done but you are trading time (to repair/seal) for money (to just buy a new one and install it). If you don't have a vacuum tester I would recommend failing safe with a new line.
