I be had a 13,15,and now16 and never had problem until 16 I started filling def while idiling. Blew computers mind, had to take it to dealer to clear and reset and informed me to always shut it off. It helps sensors reset and register the def level quicker. Haven't had a problem since,but with 15 a couple times it took several trips to reset.Step 4: Carry out the Resistance Test. There was no DEF Heater recall. There is a special service bulletin that extends the warranty period for the DEF Heater when a specific CEL pops. Firmware was changed to adjust sensor upper/lower control limits (twice) and that was a Emissions recall (with a recall of the recall and then a reissue of the recall). Update---GM after the 2nd attempt at a repair (software fix) failed a month ago has not been taking any further action. Late last week the latest fix from GM engineering was to put in a new DEF sending unit. This sending unit resides in the DEF tank and not sold as a discrete part only in the DEF tank assembly so one has been ordered.1.
