Your idea of disabling VCM using some sort of timer seems to be what Honda tried with the 3rd gen Pilots - it actually works well. The problem with applying the concept to a 2nd gen is that the computer isn't programmed to work that way and Honda won't go through the hassle of changing it and altering emissions.VCM first appears on the J35A7 in the 2005-2010 Honda Odyssey, then again on the J35Z1 (06-08 Pilot), J35Z2, Z4 (08-15 Pilot), etc etc etc and the 2016-2022 Pilot's J35Y6. Doing this solved my oil consumption issue. S-VCM Controller - Disable VCM / deactivate VCM and stop ECO in Honda Acura. Air filter New/Clean installed correctly, box sealed. Air intake tube inspect for cracks letting in unfiltered air, clamps should be tight.
