September 22, 2022. #6. So I had the same issue with my 2017 Ford Explorer lift gate and it was the foot sensor/ door keypad Fuse which is under the steering column. It’s a 5 amp fuse number 10 the sucuricode and hands free lift gate. Just test drove a 2013 Escape that has a lot going for it, but there's a strip of flaky rust all along the bottom of the liftgate (hard to see but circled in the photo). Obviously I would need to address this very soon if I bought the car.
