FIOS TV intermittently stops and starts. (hangs) 10-13-2012 06:10 AM. Since installation two months ago, experiencing intermittent hangs. Box also hangs up solid, sometimes when changing channels, and has to be reset. Signal strength is 23 db. Have to reset the box about once a week. Had a TV connected Cat6 directly to Fios router. Built a new house - new cables (CAT6 and COAX) throughout. Got Comcast and streaming video services (aka Prime) worked fine. Config: 100Mbs down, CAT6 directly from Comast router to brand new Sony TV.When the TV screen freezes (it can occur on any TV), I can use the remote and change the channel but the screen remains frozen. After about 30 seconds, the TV screen unfreezes and the screen will show the changed channel. Sep 22, 2020 · Next time it freezes go to menu>customer support >my dashboard >my connected devices and see if the boxes are showing a good internet connection. If the connections are good, then the problem is most likely an ONT or fiber issue. 0 Likes.Next time it happens go into Settings>system info and look at the SNR for the affected channel. It should be at least 36db or better. Also check the SNR under OOB data. It should be at least 25db. If low, check your coax connections and splitter. Any of them could be bad. Fox News channel has been problematic for weeks. Pixelating and freezing.
