Saves a lot of time. My cost in materials to reload fifty 147gr Hornady hollow points is around $9. I think to buy them retail would cost about $35. You can play around with the amount of powder you use in a reload to make sure it stays subsonic out of a 16inch barrel. Everything went well at the range. Based on the recorded velocities, the 23-grain charge essentially duplicated the ballistics of the Winchester 145-grain factory load. That’s 5.5 grains less (19+ percent reduction) than Hodgdon’s data shows as max for the 9mm jacketed pistol bullets.
