The service 4WD light has come on and on my previous post the 4wd low engaged and I had to disconnect the battery to get it back to 2wd. I looked online and a lot of people said it was the selector switch and not the transfer case module. I bought a new selector switch today and replaced it but unfortunately the light was still on.A little noise\vibration is normal in 4x4 mode; but if you notices a lot of difference after your lift, then you may have issues. I spoke with a few mechanics and all agreed that it was the Transfer Case Encoder Motor. I took it to the dealer to confirm this was the problem and it was. They wanted $800 to fix it. The special thing about the 2007 Silverado 1500 that i learned is, one model has an Transfer Case Encoder Motor and one model has a Transfer Case Two/Four Wheel ...Me, not so much. 2007.5 Silverado, service 4wd light, won't engage 4wd. Switch light shows it in 4wd, but just one rear tire spinning. I cleaned up the ground wire, then replaced the selector switch, then replaced the front actuator, then the transfer Case motor.
